On-Site Evaluations for Technological and Vocational Institutions in the 2024 Academic Year Successfully Concluded in January 2025
Since 2005, the Taiwan Assessment and Evaluation Association (TWAEA) has been entrusted by the Ministry of Education to conduct evaluations for technological and vocational institutions. By establishing a robust evaluation mechanism and performing annual assessment-related tasks, TWAEA is committed to enhancing the quality of education at technological institutions and safeguarding students' educational rights.
For the 2024 academic year evaluation project, a total of 21 institutions underwent assessment. Among these, 17 universities of science and technology participated in routine evaluations, two universities of science and technology underwent re-evaluations and follow-up assessments, and one technical college completed a follow-up assessment. The on-site evaluation process, conducted from late November 2024 to early January 2025, was successfully completed, with subsequent administrative tasks currently underway.
The 2024–2028 academic years mark a new cycle for institutional evaluations, continuing the key principles of the previous cycle. The evaluations focus on assessing schools' efforts to improve teaching quality, refining institutional governance, and fostering self-regulation. The ultimate goal is to ensure that teaching achieves positive learning outcomes for students, aligning with industry development trends to fulfill the practical and applied objectives of technical and vocational education.
