TWAEA specially published this book on the professional management of institutional research (IR) as an effort to foster the IR development in Taiwan’s universities. The book collects literature and information related to IR from the U.S. and Japan, and it further summarizes and analyzes investigation reports provided by IR organizations in these countries. The publication also offers the investigation results of current status of IR in Taiwan’s universities, allowing all institutions an opportunity to reflect IR organization and positioning. It is hoped the publication of the book will shed a new light on the operation and management of Taiwan’s universities.
