TWAEA Launches 2024 Cross-Border Survey on College Students' Learning Outcomes and Satisfaction

With the advance of globalization, the scope of higher education is gradually expanding across different regions, making competition no longer confined by geographical location. Schools around the world are forming dynamic and complex relationships of competition and cooperation. Under the multiple impacts of internationalization, declining birthrates, and the universalization of education in Taiwan, schools must respond to the unpredictable environment, continuously learn, and enhance their own strengths. To accelerate development and increase competitiveness, international cooperation has become an inevitable trend. Establishing unique characteristics and creating diverse values to achieve evidence-based sustainable development decisions is crucial, with institutional research playing a guiding role in school development and quality control.

Since 2018, the TWAEA's “TIRC Project” has promoted cross-border surveys on college students' learning outcomes and satisfaction, attracting active participation from numerous schools in Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Mongolia, and other places. To further strengthen the analytical value of student data and encourage Taiwanese schools to conduct broader comparative research, the 2024 survey will continue. The activity is scheduled to officially start on April 10, 2024, and continue until July 5, 2024, with all national colleges and universities invited to participate. This survey project collects reference data on students' learning outcomes and satisfaction, using diverse strategies to help schools develop new institutional research ideas and objectively assess the actual impact of teaching activities on students. Additionally, by combining survey results, a comprehensive analysis report will be produced for cross-border comparative analysis. The goal is to build an international network of institutional research, assisting Taiwanese higher education institutions in conducting deeper competitive benchmark analysis and thus planning a new blueprint for future development.
