Nursing Care Center

Taiwan has entered the aging society due to demographic aging, improved medical technology, public health standards, evolvement of disease patterns into chronic ones and increase of disabled persons. The care needs of the elderly population in Taiwan increases yearly. According to the Ministry of Health and Welfare statistics, the number of national nursing home has grown year by year, the operation and quality of nursing home are the major concerns. To ensure the safety of residents and enhance the quality of nursing home, the Ministry of Health and Welfare has started to promote "long-term care evaluation integrated program" from 2009. Through the evaluation, a secure, high-quality professional and comfortable environment can be formed and diverse development of nursing care can be achieved. Evaluation results will be used for the public to choose nursing homes and government can improve the quality by counseling them.
