Create substantive collaboration & Establish a broader perspective

Since joining the “International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education” (INQAAHE) and the “Asia Pacific Quality Network” (APQN) in 2011, TWAEA has actively form substantive partnerships with other international evaluation agencies.

Besides being invited to participate in international conferences to publish papers and external evaluations of foreign education institutes, TWAEA has invited international evaluation experts to participate in on-site visits and training sessions for committee in Taiwan to share their experience. In 2017, TWAEA collaborated with the Japan University Accreditation Association (JUAA) and Thailand's Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment (ONESQA) to launch inter-agency exchanges.

In 2018, a series of cross-national exchange activities in Taiwan, Japan and Thailand were carried out, including seminars for opinions exchange opinions on practical issues.

Cross-national exchanges, collaboration and communication can facilitate the learning from valuable experiences of other international agencies, enrich the implementation results of various evaluation projects, and further giving back to the society.

Promote international exchanges & Motivate innovation

Since 2008, TWAEA has organized the "Teaching quality of higher education in the United States," "Teaching and learning performance of higher education in the United States," "Teaching quality and students' learning performance in higher education in the United States" and other overseas visits to promote international visibility and explore exchanges.

The participants are university presidents, vice presidents, and other first-level administrative managers of various domestic universities and colleges. The arrangement of visiting tours to other overseas universities and evaluation agencies helps the domestic education practitioners to share their experience and understand the experience and philosophies of various higher education institutes with different characteristics, and the results of visits are well-received.

In recent years, TWAEA has continued to organize foreign visits to expand the exchanges between the domestic universities and colleges and other developed countries.

In 2016, trips to well-known universities in the Tokyo and Kansai regions of Japan were organized to learn their management experience and help domestic schools to promote the development of related studies and collaboration efforts.

Fundamental positioning & Promote cross-domain development

In response to the Ministry of Education’s promotions on universities quality and global competitiveness improvement in its "Promoting Internationalization of Higher Education" and “Higher Education Nurturing Program” policies, TWAEA has collaborated with other international evaluation agencies to launch the “International Joint Accreditation” program to help schools grows and connect with the international quality assurance systems. This helps schools to open up to the international quality assurance systems.

This helps schools to open up to the international market and adopt a Blue Ocean Strategy for globalization.

The “International Joint Accreditation” is meant for colleges and universities in Taiwan and program partners in other countries who wish to make internationalization as part of their development plan. TWAEA and its collaborating agencies conduct evaluation and accreditation to help these institutions.

At this stage, TWAEA has collaborated with the Japan University Accreditation Association (JUAA), Thailand's Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment (ONESQA) and the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) to promote international joint accreditation programs between Taiwan and Japan, Taiwan and Thailand and Taiwan and Germany.

The “Taiwan-Japan International Joint Accreditation Program” has been officially launched in 2018. One school each from Taiwan and Japan has participated in the first batch of the program, and committee members from both sides have worked together to conduct evaluations in the first half of 2019.
